A USfans order, and the declaration at the end of it
For North American and European destinations the journey ends differently than it does elsewhere: the parcel clears a border, and how you declared it decides much of what happens there. This page therefore treats declaration as a stage in its own right rather than a formality. Before that, the sequence is the familiar one — buy, receive, photograph, hold, dispatch.
← Back to overviewFive stages, one of them paperwork
Buy, receive, photograph, hold, then dispatch with a declaration you can defend. On these routes the last step carries as much weight as the freight choice.
Timings below are USfans' published figures. Your order page is the record.
Placing the order
Four moves, with the destination in mind from the start.
Nine stages, ending at the border
Nine stages, including the handover to customs processing, all visible in your account.

Warehouse, with clearance ahead
Roughly two days after dispatch the parcel is scanned in and inspected within about one more. It then waits at no charge, and that pause is the last chance to correct a declaration before anything leaves.
Declared and logged before the carton is opened.
Posted for approval; note anything relevant to category and declaration.
Long enough to consolidate, which also simplifies clearance.
One parcel is easier to declare accurately than four.
Dispatch, declaration and clearance
Three moves, the second of which is yours alone.
- 1. Choose the lane
Some lanes clear more predictably than others at the same price.
- 2. Declare defensibly
Under-declaring moves the whole risk onto you and saves less than people assume.
- 3. Your allowance
North American and European de minimis levels differ — check yours.
- 4. Track through clearance
Border processing is not part of the transit estimate.
Submitting sets packing and handover in motion, and tracking appears on your parcel page. Freight is based on measured weight and the lane, so the figure may differ slightly from the quote; the difference settles against your balance, and the declaration is filed at the same time.
